Have you ever seen a tank up close and personal?

I'd imagine it is quite a scary experience seeing one of the machines fully functioning, but individuals can currently look at one with a difference at the Imperial War Museum.

This is because a life-sized replica of a Challenger II tank has been made out of egg box cartons.

Over 5,000 containers were used in the construction process, the Metro reports, as well as 26 litres of glue, 10,000 nails and 5,000 staples.

The whole process took four people over 500 hours to complete and I'm sure that tempers frayed at times.

Stuart Murdoch – who headed the team – stated: "The biggest challenge was getting it through the double doors of the Imperial War Museum in one piece for the photo shoot."

The spectacle was created for March Fourth, which is an annual egg and spoon race that raises money for Help for Heroes.
