Dogs love eating anything they can get their paws on, but this doesn't mean they should chew everything in sight.

A Labrador called Chester has ended up on the operating table twice in six weeks after scoffing down a plastic frog and toy cow.

The one-year-old with the seemingly insatiable appetite had stolen the objects both times, while his owners have been left stunned with the X-rays showing them lodged in his stomach.

Marion Stribling and Neale Clark would have been facing four-figure bills if they did not have pet insurance.

Mr Clark told the Cambridge News: "Chester is doing well, he was a bit wobbly and sorry for himself the day after the operation but he is recovering very quickly now."

He added that both of the toys swallowed belonged to the same animal.

This just highlights how important it is for pet owners to be vigilant at all times, unless they like the thought of having a dog that squeaks.
