Over \u00a33 billion spent on dating every year"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Singletons are spending over &pound;3 billion every year on dates as they look for that special someone.<\/p>\n<p>This is according to research carried out by YouGov and highlights how much importance people place on finding a partner.<\/p>\n<p>The average cost of a night out has been put at &pound;47, with individuals parting with over &pound;413 a year.<\/p>\n<p>As well as this, nearly &pound;275 is spent on clothes, while more than &pound;130 gets blown on transport.<\/p>\n<p>The study highlights how the price of love is spread across a number of sectors, as entertainment, cosmetics and gifts also have to be considered.<\/p>\n<p>Part of the reason for such high figures being recorded could be the increasing popularity of online dating.<\/p>\n<p>It comes after Cathy Comerford told the Guardian about how she used the web to find love at the age of 40, after face-to-face meetings had led to a series of
