{"id":1354,"date":"2012-01-30T13:49:59","date_gmt":"2012-01-30T13:49:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/forcespenpals.net\/p=?1354"},"modified":"2012-01-30T13:49:59","modified_gmt":"2012-01-30T13:49:59","slug":"granny-skydives-14000-ft-for-military-charities","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forcespenpals.net\/gb\/news\/granny-skydives-14000-ft-for-military-charities\/","title":{"rendered":"Granny skydives 14,000 ft for military charities"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A granny from Perth, Scotland, has completed a skydive to raise money for two armed forces charities.<\/p>\n<p>Elaine Fairlie collected some &pound;1,500 for Help for Heroes and the British Limbless Ex-Service Men's Association (BLESMA) thanks to the jump, the Perthshire Advertiser reports.<\/p>\n<p>The event was organised by her son John Willans, who is a Royal Engineers corporal and experienced skydiver.<\/p>\n<p>Ms Fairlie observed there were 14 people in the plane that climbed up to 14,000 feet so she could do her jump.<\/p>\n<p>The grandmother of six stated: &quot;We were in free fall for only 45 seconds but it felt like forever before the chute finally opened.
