People should look through their online dating profile thoroughly to make sure there are no errors in it.

This is according to a post by Chris Hicks on The Urban Twist and he noted individuals should also use a recent photo.

If typos slip through, then prospective partners may take this as an indication that they are not that interested in the whole process, while some misspelt words could lead to confusion.

Mr Hicks, author of Think Volume 1 – which seeks to instruct people on how to turn dating into a monogamist relationship – added that when it comes to age and personal appearance, honesty is the best policy.

He also suggests singletons should try and find a partner who lives within a 30-mile radius.

Individuals should also be truthful about what they are looking for on a first date, as this can save people wasting each other's time.
