Nell McAndrew was helping support soldiers recently at The Royal Hospital in Chelsea as part of a charity’s 125th anniversary celebrations.

The forces sweetheart and charity campaigner is an active supporter of The Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen & Families Association (SSAFA) – Forces Help organisation.

She was on hand at the hospital to help launch SSAFA 125, a year of 125th anniversary celebrations, and was joined by Chelsea pensioners and a timeline of troops representing the military charity’s history.

"I am a passionate supporter of our Armed Forces and I’m really proud to help SSAFA Forces Help celebrate such a milestone anniversary today," McAndrew commented.

Last year, McAndrew took part in the SSAFA Forces Help skydive, so it appears she is certainly committed to the cause.

Musician Chris Whiting recently released a single of the song My Boy in order to raise funds for the SSAFA.

He teamed up with Charlatans’ drummer Jon Brookes for the number.
