expedition seeks to raise \u00a310k for H4H"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The British Services Antarctic Expedition 2012 is hoping to raise &pound;10,000 for Help for Heroes (H4H).<\/p>\n<p>Those taking part are looking to commemorate the route travelled by Captain Robert Scott on his ill-fated expedition to reach the South Pole.<\/p>\n<p>A group of ex-military personnel will be taking part in the adventure, but they will not seek to recreate the exact route taken by Captain Scott, instead adhering to the spirit of it.<\/p>\n<p>Darren Foote, a former sergeant in the Royal Military Police and Gulf War veteran, told the Gwent Gazette he is delighted to be part of the challenge.<\/p>\n<p>A spokesman for the trip stated they are hoping to collect cash for &quot;modern day military heroes&quot; and added the whole process would not have been possible without the help of benefactors and sponsors.<\/p>\n<p>The 24 people who take part on the expedition are not expected to return to
