Police officers in Dorset have completed a 15.5-mile walk for charity.<\/p>\n
Those who took part trekked from the forces headquarters at Winfrith to Weymouth police station and all of the money raised went to Pilgrim Bandits, the Dorset Echo reports.<\/p>\n
In total over £2,500 was collected by the initiative, while around 130 people went the distance.<\/p>\n
Superintendent Mick Rogers was one of those who helped plan the undertaking and he was delighted to collect so much for a "worthwhile cause".<\/p>\n
"I would really like to thank those members of the public that provided us with so much support during the walk. Their support was greatly appreciated," he added.<\/p>\n
Supt Rogers continued by saying although the weather was not great, everyone involved still managed to enjoy themselves.<\/p>\n
Pilgrim Bandits – which counts Dragons' Den star Duncan Bannnatyne as one of its patrons – takes injured armed forces members on adventure and confidence building trips.<\/p>\n
