A group of servicemen, five of which are leg amputees, are set to climb Mount Kilimanjaro for charity.<\/p>\n
There will be a team of eight – made up of six Reading-based Territorials from 7 Rifles and two seriously injured regular soldiers – taking on the rock form, Get Reading reports.<\/p>\n
In order to prepare for the arduous challenge, they will be scaling Snowdon next weekend (November 19th).<\/p>\n
The group of men will be try to reach the summit of Kilimanjaro – which is the highest free-standing mountain in the world at 19,361 feet – in February.<\/p>\n
All of the money they collect will go towards Pilgrim Bandits, a charity that helps ex-servicemen and women who have been injured get their confidence and love of life back.<\/p>\n
Typically, all of the fundraising initiatives undertaken involve taking people out their comfort zone and getting them to complete a physically and mentally draining exercise.<\/p>\n
