Surfers are always thought of being pretty fearless when out on the water.

And Doug Niblack showed his cool under pressure after he recently ended up riding a great white shark, the Associated Press reports.

He had been surfing off the Oregon coast when he hit something hard, which he presumed was a rock.

Mr Niblack then released he was in fact on top of one of the predators.

"It was pretty terrifying just seeing the shape emerge out of nothing and just being under me and the fin coming out of the water. It was just like the movies," he stated.

Thankfully for Mr Niblack, the shark went out from beneath him and he was able to make his way to shore unharmed.

Last month, Rupert Kirkwood was dragged along for half a mile in his kayak after he caught a six foot shark when he was out fishing.
