Single soldiers and others trying out online dating should use their profile to sell themselves.<\/p>\n
James Preece – author of The Insider's Dating Guide – noted the message acts as a personal advert and so people should not be afraid to list what they are passionate about.<\/p>\n
"Always include a 'hook' or an invitation. This gives the viewer the chance to make contact as they will spot a way of breaking the ice," he added.<\/p>\n
Individuals should look to present the best possible version of themselves without having to lie, Mr Preece observed, while no negative comments should be included.<\/p>\n
The specialist continued by saying that lying at the beginning will eventually lead to an erosion in trust once the person finds out.<\/p>\n
Mr Preece's comments follow on from a study published in the journal Evolution and Human Behavior that found those looking for love often deliberately conceal their political leanings.<\/p>\n
