Walking in a perfectly straight line can be tricky at the best of times, but imagine trying to keep your balance at 3,000 metres above sea level.

This may well fill you with dread, but now think of attempting the feat without a safety harness or even a pole to balance with.

Fortunately stuntman Freddy Nock is more agile than most of us, so this wasn't a problem when he carried out the impressive task of scaling a cable car line above a mountain range in Germany.

Pictures of Nock in the middle of the mission are quite incredible, as he takes on the 1,000 metre metal rope and seems to be walking up a relatively steep gradient.

It took him 90 minutes to finish the route, after which Nock said: "I don't want to do it again, not without a balancing pole. It was exhausting."

Sadly not all daredevil stunts go according to plan, as wing walker Todd Green fell to his death yesterday (August 21st) when attempting to move from a plane to a helicopter at 200 ft in the air.
