Single soldiers may well be looking for a lasting relationship with someone they are well suited to.

According to Drew Lubega, editor of AskMen UK, males often do not get enough credit for this fact.

"Guys place a lot of value on quality, meaningful relationships," he says.

A recent poll from AskMen UK revealed 72 per cent of men make long-term considerations when they are selecting a partner, while 66 per cent of those quizzed said they still believe in the importance of marriage.

The Great Male Survey also discovered 76 per cent of women still hold faith in the concept of getting wed.

Contrary to some beliefs, Mr Lubega says the study showed men are not only concerned about how a potential love interest looks, as they actually find a sense of humour the most attractive trait in a female.

On the other hand, women thought the key quality of the opposite sex was to have a sense of nurturing and caring.
