A charity football tournament is being held in honour of Help for Heroes and will show just how much participants support soldiers<\/a> past and present.<\/p>\n

Runcorn Linnets Supporters Club is hosting the event on July 31st, with a number of sides joining in at Moorfield Sports and Social Club in Widnes, the Runcorn and Widnes Weekly News reports.<\/p>\n

As well as the games, there will also be a range of prizes on offer, activities for children and electric clay-pigeon shooting.<\/p>\n

Darren Law is organising the fundraising and says: "We believe that this a great cause as all money raised will go toward all our great men and women who are and have been fighting for our country."<\/p>\n

He explains everybody knows of people who are currently serving in the armed forces, which is why he is trying to encourage as many people as possible to support the day.<\/p>\n

Troops recently paraded through Thatcham to mark the Freedom of the Town honour, with servicemen and women from the Royal School of Military Service taking part.<\/p>\n
