A couple who met via an online dating site have got engaged in an appropriate manner – thanks to the creation of a special web page.

Jim proposed to his girlfriend Julie by setting up the website Juliewillyoumarry.me, which was filled with a series of drawings, pictures and captions detailing their history together.

A webcam filmed Julie as she scrolled down the page and got to the end to see the words Will You Marry Me? in capital letters.

At the start of the storyboard, Jim writes: "We met through an online dating algorithm," then posts an excerpt of his profile that caught Julie's attention.

Images and captions showing their time together since then are followed by a section entitled "future awesomeness", which includes getting married and having children.

Another couple who met via the internet are Perry Burk and Karen Schneider, who bonded over their shared love of animals, the Palm Beach Post recently reported.
