Lions might look cute and fluffy, but you only need to see one clip of a wildlife programme to learn they can be deadly beasts.<\/p>\n
And this fact has come too late for one woman, who is said to have been attacked and eaten by one of the creatures in her own home.<\/p>\n
Martha Nduta, from the Nyahururu district of Kenya, was killed by a lion that had escaped from a private ranch.<\/p>\n
The attack was so ferocious that the only way of identifying the 58-year-old woman was by her ripped clothes and a shoe that was found at the scene of the incident.<\/p>\n
Officials are searching for the animal, which left behind a skull and some bones before going on the run.<\/p>\n
Rangers from Kenya Wildlife Service – which manages approximately eight per cent of the country's total landmass – are now on the hunt for the killer.<\/p>\n
